IN SHORT

IN SHORT

Search for the cost of a website and you will find figures ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands. That is not necessarily contradictory. A website is not a standardised product.

In 2026, published prices for professional small-business websites range from low four-figure amounts to significantly more depending on market, provider and scope. Clutch reports web-design-company projects from approximately US$2,000 to US$100,000, although most projects reviewed on its platform cost less than US$10,000.

For 2027, some providers have already published substantial price increases. In specific examples, the increases range from roughly 25% to 56%. That does not establish a worldwide 30% forecast, but it does show that higher 2027 pricing is already appearing.

These are reference ranges, not universal market prices. Scope, taxes and provider type vary by market, and agency pricing can be considerably higher.

Why can the same website cost €1,500 or €15,000?

Because it is rarely the same website.

A straightforward business website with existing copy and limited functionality is a very different project from a bespoke brand website involving strategy, custom design, multiple languages, bookings, e-commerce, integrations or extensive SEO.

The meaningful question is therefore not simply:

“How much does the website cost?”

It is:

“What is actually included for that price?”

The main cost drivers

  • Page count and project scope
  • Bespoke design or template
  • Strategy
  • Content
  • Multiple languages
  • Responsive implementation
  • Forms
  • Integrations
  • Bookings
  • E-commerce
  • SEO
  • Custom functionality
  • Project management and support

What are you actually paying for?

A professional website project involves much more than the finished pages visible on screen.

Depending on the scope, the work can include planning, information architecture, design, responsive adaptation, technical implementation, forms, testing and launch preparation.

Copywriting, image preparation, multiple languages, SEO, e-commerce, booking systems, integrations and ongoing support may also be part of the project.

OUTLOOK

Website prices in 2027: what can we already see?

There is currently no credible basis for claiming that web-design prices worldwide will uniformly rise by 30% in 2027.

There are, however, already providers publishing materially higher 2027 prices.

CAZ currently advertises a €5,555 net website package for 2026 and states a €7,900 net price for 2027, an increase of roughly 42%.

Buchalik Digital publishes other examples moving from around €3,000 to €4,000, approximately +33%, from €4,500 to €7,000, approximately +56%, and from €8,000 to €10,000, approximately +25%.

So increases of around 30% and above are already visible at individual providers.

That does not mean every website in every market will cost 30% more next year. It does mean businesses planning a project should compare not only today's headline price, but also what that price secures and which costs may arise later.

A lower upfront cost does not automatically mean a lower total cost. Duration, scope and the selected model all matter.

What costs arise after launch?

Depending on the project, ongoing costs may include domain, hosting, maintenance, additional pages, new functionality, external services, e-commerce, booking systems or additional languages.

At MK Webdesign, domain and hosting are paid separately and remain registered in the client's name.

Frequently asked questions about website costs

CONCLUSION

Price alone says very little about the value of a website.

A €1,500 website and a €15,000 website can both represent fair value if their scope and deliverables are very different.

The useful question is therefore not only:

“How much does the website cost?”

It is also:

“What is included? What does the business actually need? What will it cost later? And which solution makes sense long term?”
